In their own words, Legal Studio are “not the average law firm”.
They’re focused on making real connections, in the real world, putting people first and leaving law second. With this radical ethos, a mold-breaking way of working and incredible expertise to promote, they needed a website that brought all that personality, progress & prowess to the forefront of their digital experience.
The objective
To design and build a creative, playful and personable website that would break the mould of corporate, conservative and formal law firm websites. Beyond that though, it still had to showcase Legal Studio’s comprehensive range of legal services across both personal and business law, and most critically, work as an effective recruitment tool, capable of attracting the right kind of talent to this one-of-a-kind law firm.
What we did
We leveraged the flexibility & extendibility of the Umbraco CMS to create a colourful new website for Legal Studio. Our designers took their existing brand identity and injected new colours to help create a brighter, bolder, more vibrant digital identity.
Curves replaced corners and photos replaced stock images to really bring the people behind Legal Studio to the fore. We led the creative direction of the photoshoots to ensure the new videos and photos truly supported the playful and personable look and feel we were striving for.
Within Umbraco, we built in the capability for Legal Studio’s consultants to create their own microsites, empowering flexible content creation while preserving the integrity of the core website pages through bespoke user controls.

“We don’t think we’re quite right for each other”

Recruitment was at the heart of this brief, but when the law firm’s as unique as this one, recruiting anyone and everyone wasn’t the right approach. This recruitment strategy is all about quality over quantity, finding people who are the right fit, not any old fit.
In keeping with the playful personality of the brand, we created an interactive recruitment quiz, brimming with personality in the narrative & intuition in the user experience. The aim was to balance the inclusivity of opportunity, anyone is welcome to try the quiz, with the exclusivity of outcome, not everyone is invited to apply for a role. If you’re feeling brave, see if you’re cut from the right cloth for Legal Studio.
