The Pixel Story so Far...

8th August 2018

Two brand new faces have joined the ranks here at Pixel Towers.
Vicky Wright is our brand new Office Manager, it’s a role we’ve never had before but already we’re struggling to remember how we ever managed without her.

Jake Sharatt is now our brand new UX designer and affectionately deemed an Andy 2.0. Not only did Jake and Andy attend the same university and study the same course (albeit a few years apart), but they also share an affection for bold socks and Apple technology. They’re like two peas in a pod and between them and Gabbi, our design team is stronger than ever.

10th July 2017

As we’re now 7 months into 2017 it’s time for the traditional Pixelbuilders’ update, and this year there quite a bit to share already. Not only did our favourite project manager Lucy Addison get Google Certified and get married to become Mrs Harrison, but our developer Josh Holt also announced that he’s taking a trip across the world this summer.

Thankfully, we have the brand new pool table to help us pass the time until his return, which has fitted nicely into our brand new office!

But perhaps most importantly of all, our new office now has more space to accommodate our ever growing team. Most recently we welcomed aboard our brand new web developer Sam Kuhnbaum. Sam is here to help our development team continue to output even more new websites and enterprise level ecommerce solutions as well as taking some of the pressure off, while Josh is away gallivanting across the globe.

Speaking of new websites, 2017 has seen a number of new Pixel projects being released into the wild wild Web. To date we have launched a brand new ecommerce solution for The Plastic People and another heavily integrated ecommerce solution for Direct Blinds.

We created a brand new lead generation site for Chartford Homes, which makes the most of HTML5 to help enhance their SEO and last but by no means least, our developer Andy Boot completed three sites in one go for our client Cubed Resourcing, in what has to be some of the most efficient development work we’ve done to date.

23rd February 2017

2017 saw the launch of a new and improved Pixelbuilder’s website. As with all agencies, we spend all our time doing design and development work for our clients, so when it comes to lavishing some love and attention on our own website, it has to be squeezed in and around everything else. But this year, we decided a change was well overdue, so in spite of our busy work schedule, we got our heads down and came up with a brand new version of the Pixel website.

20th December 2016

Looking back at 2016, it has been another exciting year for our digital team, with quite a few significant moments worth remembering. Here are just a few of our favourite highlights…

We said hello to two new members of staff; Gabbi our Junior Designer and Olly our Content and Social Executive. We retained our Kentico Gold Partner status and our work for Strata Homes was nominated for the Kentico Site Of The Year Award.

We were shortlisted for a Northern Digital Award for the second year in a row and we achieved a top ten position (6th to be precise) in The Drum Digital Census, for client service in the UK. An achievement we have now maintained since 2014.

There were two Pixel engagements, one Pixel wedding and 2 new Pixel babies. Josh got his first car and Chris moved into a new house and got his first pet, Dandelion the Hedgehog (yes really).

And of course, throughout it all we have continued to work with our fantastic clients, delivering everything from websites, to web systems and digital marketing campaigns. And we’ve said hello to one or two brand new clients as well.

22nd August 2016

As 2016 marches on and our 6th birthday celebrations are already being forgotten in favour of Christmas party plans (it’s never too soon!).

First, we’d like to take the opportunity to welcome our new designer, Gabbi to the Pixel team. Gabbi joins us fresh faced and enthusiastic after recently completing her degree in Digital Media at Leeds.

This year end we saw our overall billings increase by over 40% year on year, with a like-for-like growth in overall profitability as well.

The Drum Independent Agency Census once again ranked us in the top 10 (7th to be precise) UK agencies with under the 25 staff for Client Service and our increase in profitability didn’t go unnoticed either, allowing us to climb over 50 places in the financial performance tables.

2016 has also seen us start working with some amazing new clients, as well as continuing to work with our awesome existing clients too. In the past quarter alone we have continued to work with Strata Homes, St Leonard’s Hospice, Wakefield Hospice and Change Charity, while also launching new websites for first time clients like Help-to-Buy NEYH, Sage Coretime, Hemingway Tailors and St. Gemma’s Hospice.

2nd February 2015

Well it’s the start of a new year (kind of) and what better way to start the year than with an exciting office move!

Our recent office move marks a pivotal stage of development for our already growing digital agency. In support of our growth plans we are also very pleased to welcome to the team our latest recruit - Lucy Harrison.
