Taking place as a glamorous black-tie event, The Velvet Noir Ball promises an evening of entertainment, fundraising and celebration all while helping improve the lives of those affected by this life-limiting condition. 

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition that affects more than 11,000 people in the UK. It causes the body to produce thick, sticky mucus that can build up in the lungs and digestive system, leading to serious breathing difficulties, frequent infections and ongoing health complications. Living with cystic fibrosis requires a significant daily commitment. Many people with CF spend hours each day undertaking physiotherapy, taking medication and using specialised equipment to manage their condition and maintain their health. While medical advances have dramatically improved life expectancy and quality of life, cystic fibrosis remains a lifelong condition that requires constant care and support. 

Cystic Fibrosis Care is a local charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis throughout Yorkshire. The charity works closely with healthcare professionals and patients to fund specialist equipment, improve patient experiences and enhance treatment facilities. Their work has a direct and tangible impact on the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. By providing access to innovative equipment and supporting specialist services the charity helps patients maintain greater independence, improve their health outcomes and enjoy a better quality of life.  

Funds raised through this year’s Velvet Noir Ball will go towards the purchase of a new Tosca monitoring device for the cystic fibrosis ward at St James’ Hospital, Leeds. The importance of this piece of equipment helps clinicians monitor patients more effectively and contributes to delivering the highest standard of care. 

As a Leeds-based business, we believe strongly in supporting causes that create a positive change within our community. The work carried out by Cystic Fibrosis Care has a genuine impact on local families and we are honoured to play a part in helping them continue their mission. What makes this event particularly special is seeing where the money raised will go. Every contribution made on the night will help improve the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis, whether through enhanced hospital equipment, better treatment experiences or increased access to life-changing support.

This innovative device can significantly reduce treatment times, giving patients greater freedom to work, study, travel and enjoy everyday life while effectively managing their condition. For many people living with cystic fibrosis, time is precious. Equipment like this helps reduce the burden of treatment and allows individuals to focus on living fuller, healthier and more active lives.
