Catching Up On 2019's Whirlwind End To The Year

After a busy start to 2020, we’ve finally sat down to reflect on the last quarter of 2019.
It was a busy last quarter too! All sorts happened including the arrival of 3 new members to the Pixel family. Introducing...

Jessie Kenvyn - Digital Account Manager

Jessie has worked in digital client management since graduating from University in 2012 and has worked extensively with pharmaceutical companies so is used to the fast paced, focused and ever-changing requirements that come with being an account manager. Jessie brings a fresh and exciting approach to the team and our project delivery.

Ben Knight -  Developer

Ben joined our development team in October and comes from an digital agency background.  Having worked for another Kentico Gold Partner in the south, Ben has decided to brave the dizzying Northern lights of Leeds and help advance our development outputs; as well as upping our office beard game.

Alex Roberts - Senior Digital Designer

Alex joins us from well-known agency Brass and is a much-needed new member for our busy design team. Alex has an impressive portfolio including working on projects with a major multinational sports brand, experiential e-commerce microsites and interactive animated social campaigns.

Other News

In November we welcomed Andy Ackroyd’s baby boy Ethan into the world. Andy has settled into his new role really well and luckily Ethan is behaving himself and allowing Andy enough sleep on a night so that he can get through the day (mostly and with a little help from an abundance of caffeine, obviously).

Christmas

This year the Christmas party included a visit to The Great Escape in Leeds. We split into 3 teams, each headed by a Director and we tackled the Devils Playground, King Arthur’s Secret and Underworld Conspiracy. I’m pleased to say we all escaped within the time limit although the Devils Playground definitely seemed to be the hardest with that team only having 3 minutes left on the timer when they emerged.

Afterwards we headed over to Miller & Carter for a wonderful Christmas meal, some of us went for the tasty traditional turkey option whilst others had their heads turned by the delicious rump steak. After food, the party continued with plenty of drinks and dancing to finish the year off in style.

Pixel Awards 2019

Well done to everyone who was nominated in this years' Pixel awards, the well deserved winners were:

Project of the Year: Strata

Pixelbuilder of the Year: Gabbi

Team Members' Member of the Year: Kristian

Innovator of the Year: Josh

Above and Beyond: Rachael

The Pixel awards were hosted again by Martin Oates – dressed as always in a delicate ensemble, which included a flashing green bow tie and a vibrant suit jacket with flashing lights, resembling some kind of dodgy 80’s games show host.
